Consider a diagram of a plant cell. Identify the nucleus, which houses genetic material, and the chloroplasts, which are responsible for photosynthesis. In contrast, an animal cell lacks chloroplasts but contains lysosomes, which help in digestion. By labeling these organelles, students can better understand their functions and importance.
In pairs, students will receive images of both plant and animal cells. They will work together to identify and label the organelles in each cell type.
