Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make. Animals are all around us, and each one has a unique sound. For example, a cow goes 'moo,' a cat goes 'meow,' and a dog goes 'bark.' Let's think about some of our favorite animals and what sounds they make!

I will show you pictures of different animals, and we will match them with their sounds. For instance, when I show you a picture of a lion, you will say 'roar.' Let’s practice together! I will hold up a picture of a duck, and you will tell me what sound a duck makes. That's right, it goes 'quack!'

Now, let's play a game! I will say the name of an animal, and you will make the sound it makes. For example, if I say 'sheep,' you will say 'baa.' Let’s go around the circle, and each of you will get a turn to say an animal and make its sound. This will help us remember the animals and their sounds better!

For your independent practice, you will create a mini animal sound book. You will draw a picture of your favorite animal on one page and write the sound it makes on the next page. For example, if you choose a frog, you will draw a frog and write 'ribbit.' Once you finish your book, you can share it with a friend or the class!
