Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make. Animals are all around us, and each one has a unique sound. For example, a dog barks, a cat meows, and a cow moos. Let's think about some of our favorite animals and what sounds they make. Can anyone tell me what sound a lion makes? That's right, it roars! We will explore more animals and their sounds together.
Let's look at some pictures of animals. I will show you a picture of a duck. What sound does a duck make? Yes, it quacks! Now, I will show you a picture of a sheep. Can anyone tell me the sound a sheep makes? That's correct, it bleats! We can match the animal to its sound by saying them together. This helps us remember both the animal and its sound.
Now, let's play a game! I will make an animal sound, and you have to guess which animal it is. For example, if I say 'moo,' you should shout out 'cow!' After we play, we can draw our favorite animal and write the sound it makes underneath. This will help us remember the animals and their sounds while having fun!
For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal on a piece of paper. Once you finish your drawing, write down the sound that animal makes. You can use words or even draw a speech bubble with the sound in it. When you are done, we will share our drawings with the class and practice saying the animal sounds together.
