Today, we will learn about the sounds that letters make. Each letter of the alphabet has its own sound, and when we put these sounds together, we can create words. For example, the letter 'B' makes the sound /b/, and when we add the letter 'A', we can say 'BA'. Let's listen to the sounds of some letters together.

Let's practice blending sounds together. I will say the sounds of two letters, and you will repeat after me. For example, if I say /c/ and /a/, you will say 'ca'. Now, let's try with /m/ and /a/. What do we get? Yes, 'ma'! Great job! Remember, blending sounds helps us read and write words.

Now, we will play a game to recognize letters. I will show you a letter, and you will tell me the sound it makes. For example, if I show you the letter 'S', you will say /s/. After that, we will think of a word that starts with that letter. Let's start with the letter 'D'. What sound does it make? Excellent! Now, can you think of a word that starts with 'D'?

It's your turn to practice writing! I want you to take your worksheets and write the letters we learned today. After that, try to write a simple word using those letters. For example, if you wrote 'C' and 'A', you can write 'CA'. Remember to say the sounds as you write to help you remember them!
