Today, we will learn about the sounds that letters make. Each letter has a unique sound that helps us form words. For example, the letter 'A' makes the sound /a/, like in 'apple'. We will focus on the letters A, B, C, D, and E. Let's practice saying these sounds together!

Let's look at some examples. When I say the letter 'B', I want you to think of a word that starts with that sound. Can anyone tell me a word that starts with 'B'? (Encourage responses like 'ball' or 'bat'). Now, let's do the same for 'C'. What word starts with 'C'? (Responses could include 'cat' or 'cup').

Now, we will play a sound matching game. I will say a letter, and you will clap your hands if you can think of a word that starts with that letter. For example, if I say 'D', you might clap for 'dog'. Let's try it together! I will say the letters A, B, C, D, and E, and you will clap for each letter's sound.

For our independent activity, you will create a letter sound art project. Choose a letter from A to E and draw a picture of something that starts with that letter. For example, if you choose 'A', you could draw an apple. Once you finish your drawing, we will share our artwork with the class and say the letter and the word together.
