Let's look at the letter 'C'. The sound it makes is /k/. Can anyone tell me a word that starts with the /k/ sound? Yes! 'Cat' starts with /k/. Now, let's think of another word that starts with the same sound. How about 'Cup'? Great job! This shows us how sounds help us create words.
I will say a sound, and you will help me think of words that start with that sound. For example, if I say /s/, you might say 'Sun' or 'Star'. Let's do this together for a few more sounds. Remember to raise your hand when you have a word to share!
