Today, we will learn about rhymes! Rhymes are words that sound the same at the end. For example, 'cat' and 'hat' rhyme because they both end with the 'at' sound. Rhyming helps us with our reading and makes our language fun! Let's listen to a short rhyme together.

Let's look at some examples of rhyming words. I will say a word, and you will help me find a word that rhymes with it. For instance, if I say 'dog', you might say 'frog'. Let's try a few more: 'sun' and 'fun', 'tree' and 'bee'. Great job! You are getting the hang of it!

Now, we will play a rhyming game! I will say a word, and you will clap your hands when you think of a word that rhymes with it. For example, if I say 'ball', you might clap for 'call' or 'mall'. Let's start with the word 'light'. Ready? Clap when you think of a rhyme!

It's your turn to be creative! Take a piece of paper and write down a word. Then, think of as many rhyming words as you can and write them down too. For example, if you write 'bat', you could write 'hat', 'mat', and 'rat'. After you finish, you can share your rhymes with a friend!
