Today, we will learn about rhymes! Rhymes are words that sound the same at the end. For example, 'cat' and 'hat' rhyme because they both end with the 'at' sound. We will listen to some fun rhymes and try to find words that rhyme with them. Rhyming helps us with reading and makes our language fun!

Let's look at some examples together. I will say a word, and you will help me find a word that rhymes with it. For instance, if I say 'dog', you might say 'frog'. Let's try another one: 'sun'. What rhymes with 'sun'? Yes, 'run'! Great job! This is how we can play with sounds.

Now, we will play a rhyming game! I will say a word, and you will clap your hands if you can think of a word that rhymes with it. For example, if I say 'tree', you might clap for 'bee' or 'free'. Let's start with the word 'ball'. Can you think of a rhyming word? Clap if you can!

For our independent practice, I want you to draw a picture of your favorite animal and write a word that rhymes with it. For example, if you draw a 'cat', you could write 'hat' next to it. Be creative and use your imagination! Once you finish, we will share our drawings and rhymes with the class.
