Today, we will learn about rhymes! Rhymes are words that sound the same at the end. For example, 'cat' and 'hat' rhyme because they both end with the 'at' sound. We will listen to some fun rhymes and try to find more words that rhyme with them.

Let's look at some examples together. I will say a word, and you will help me find a word that rhymes with it. If I say 'dog', can anyone think of a word that rhymes with 'dog'? Yes, 'frog'! Great job! Now, let's try with 'sun'. What rhymes with 'sun'? Yes, 'fun'! Keep listening for more rhymes as we read our story.

Now, we will play a rhyming game! I will say a word, and you will clap your hands if you can think of a word that rhymes with it. For example, if I say 'ball', you might clap for 'mall' or 'tall'. Let's start with 'tree'. Clap if you can think of a rhyming word! Remember, it has to sound the same at the end!

For our independent practice, you will create a rhyming word art. Draw a picture of an object, like a 'cat', and then write down as many rhyming words as you can think of next to your drawing. You can use words like 'hat', 'bat', and 'mat'. Once you finish, we will share our art with the class!
