Today, we will learn about different animals in isiNdebele. Animals are an important part of our lives and culture. We will look at pictures of animals and learn how to say their names in isiNdebele. For example, a dog is called 'inja' and a cat is 'ikati'. We will also learn the sounds these animals make.

Let’s look at some pictures of animals. I will show you a picture of a cow. What do we call a cow in isiNdebele? Yes, it is 'inkomo'. Now, let’s listen to the sound a cow makes. Can anyone tell me what sound a cow makes? That's right, it goes 'moo'. We will repeat the name and sound together: 'inkomo' and 'moo'.

Now, let’s play a game! I will make the sound of an animal, and you will guess which animal it is in isiNdebele. For example, if I say 'meow', you should respond with 'ikati'. Let’s try another one: 'woof'. What is that in isiNdebele? Yes, 'inja'! This will help us remember the names and sounds of the animals.

For our independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal. Once you finish your drawing, write the name of the animal in isiNdebele next to it. Remember to include the sound it makes too!
