Let's look at some pictures of animals. I will show you a picture of a dog. In isiXhosa, we say 'inja'. Can anyone tell me what sound a dog makes? Yes, it barks! Now, let's look at a cat. We say 'ikati' in isiXhosa. What sound does a cat make? Correct, it meows! We will continue this with other animals.

Now, I will divide you into small groups. Each group will receive a set of animal pictures. Your task is to work together to name each animal in isiXhosa and make the sound it makes. For example, if you have a picture of a cow, you will say 'inkomo' and moo like a cow. Afterward, each group will present one animal to the class.

For your independent practice, you will receive a worksheet with pictures of animals. Your job is to write the name of each animal in isiXhosa next to the picture. There will also be a section where you can draw your favorite animal and write its name in isiXhosa. Remember to use the words we learned today!
