Let’s look at some pictures of places in our community. For example, here is a picture of a school. What do we call this in isiXhosa? Yes, it is 'isikolo'. Now, let’s think about what happens at a school. We learn and play there. Can anyone tell me another place we see in our community?

Now, let’s pretend to be community helpers. I will say a place, and you will tell me who works there. For example, if I say 'ivenkile', you can say 'umthengisi' (shopkeeper). Let’s practice this together. I will say a place, and you will respond with the correct community helper.

For our independent activity, I want you to draw your favorite place in the community. Once you finish your drawing, label it in isiXhosa. For example, if you draw a hospital, write 'um hospital' on your picture. Be ready to share your drawing with the class and tell us why you chose that place.
