Let’s look at some pictures of places in our community. For example, here is a picture of a school. In isiXhosa, we say 'isikolo'. Can anyone tell me what other places we see in our community? Now, let’s pretend to be community helpers! I will call out a place, and you will act like the helper who works there. For example, if I say 'isikolo', you can pretend to be a teacher. Let’s practice saying 'Ndiy teacher' (I am a teacher) or 'Ndiy ugqirha' (I am a doctor). This will help us remember the vocabulary through fun activities.
For our independent activity, I want you to draw your favorite place in the community. Once you finish your drawing, label it in isiXhosa. For example, if you draw a bank, write 'ibhanki' on it. This will help you connect the words we learned with real-life places.
