Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make. Animals are all around us, and each one has a unique name in isiZulu. For example, a dog is called 'inja' and it barks, which is 'ukukhala'. We will look at pictures of various animals and practice saying their names and the sounds they make.
Letβs look at some examples together. The cow is called 'inkomo' and it moos, which is 'ukukhala'. The cat is 'ikati' and it meows, or 'ukukhala'. We can repeat these words together: 'inkomo' (cow), 'ukukhala' (moos), 'ikati' (cat), 'ukukhala' (meows). This will help us remember the names and sounds of these animals.
Now, letβs work in groups. Each group will receive a set of animal cards. You will take turns picking a card, saying the name of the animal in isiZulu, and then making the sound it makes. For example, if you pick the card with 'inja', you will say 'inja' and then bark like a dog. This will help us learn from each other and have fun!
For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal. Once you have drawn it, write its name in isiZulu underneath. For example, if you draw a lion, write 'ingwe' below your drawing. You can also write the sound it makes. This will help you remember the animal names and sounds while being creative!
