Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make. Animals are all around us, and each one has a unique name and sound. For example, a dog is called 'inja' in isiZulu, and it goes 'bark'. Let's explore more animals together!
Let's look at some examples. The cow is called 'inkomo' and it makes a sound 'moo'. The cat is 'ikati' and it says 'meow'. We can practice saying these words together. Repeat after me: 'inkomo' (cow), 'moo', 'ikati' (cat), 'meow'.
Now, let's work in groups. Each group will choose an animal and prepare to share its name and sound with the class. For example, if your group chooses a lion, you will say 'ingwe' and 'roar'. After a few minutes, we will present our animals to each other.
For independent practice, each learner will draw their favorite animal and write its name in isiZulu. Then, they will write the sound it makes. For instance, if you draw a chicken, you will write 'inkukhu' and 'cluck'. Once finished, we will share our drawings with the class.
