Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make. Animals are all around us, and each one has a special name in isiZulu. For example, a dog is called 'inja', and a cat is called 'ikati'. We will also learn the sounds these animals make, such as 'bark' for a dog and 'meow' for a cat.
Let's look at some examples together. The cow is called 'inkomo' in isiZulu, and it makes a sound called 'moo'. The sheep is 'imvu', and it says 'baa'. We can practice saying these words together. Repeat after me: 'inkomo' (cow), 'imvu' (sheep), 'inja' (dog), 'ikati' (cat).
Now, we will play a game! I will say the name of an animal in isiZulu, and you will make the sound that animal makes. For example, if I say 'inja', you will bark like a dog. Let's try it together! 'Ikati'! (Students respond with 'meow'). Great job! Let's continue with more animals.
For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal and write its name in isiZulu. Below the drawing, write the sound it makes. For example, if you draw a dog, write 'inja' and 'bark'. Once you finish, we will share our drawings with the class.
