Today, we will learn about different animals and the sounds they make in isiZulu. Animals are an important part of our world, and knowing their names helps us communicate better. We will look at common animals such as 'inja' (dog), 'kati' (cat), and 'ihhashi' (horse), and learn the sounds they make like 'bark', 'meow', and 'neigh'.

Let’s look at some examples together. The word for 'dog' in isiZulu is 'inja', and the sound a dog makes is 'bark', which we can say as 'ukukhala'. Similarly, 'kati' means 'cat', and it says 'meow' or 'ukukhala'. We can practice saying these words together as a class.

Now, let’s work in groups. Each group will choose an animal and create a short presentation. You will say the name of the animal in isiZulu, describe the sound it makes, and even act it out! For example, if your group chooses 'ihhashi', you will say 'ihhashi' and then make the 'neigh' sound. This will help us remember the names and sounds better.

For your independent work, I want you to draw your favorite animal and write its name in isiZulu. Underneath the drawing, write the sound it makes. For example, if you draw a 'kati', write 'kati' and 'ukukhala'. This will help you remember both the name and the sound of the animal.
