Emotions are feelings that we experience every day. They can be happy, sad, angry, or scared. Understanding our emotions helps us communicate better with others. Today, we will learn about different emotions and how to recognize them in ourselves and our friends.
Let's look at some pictures of faces showing different emotions. For example, when someone smiles, they might be happy. When someone frowns, they might be sad. We can also feel excited when we see our friends or scared when we hear a loud noise. By looking at these pictures, we can practice naming the emotions we see.
Now, let's play a game! I will say an emotion, and you will show me how that emotion looks on your face. For example, if I say 'happy,' you will smile. If I say 'angry,' you will frown. This will help us learn how to express our feelings and understand how others might feel too.
For our independent practice, you will draw a picture of yourself showing an emotion. You can choose to draw yourself happy, sad, or any other emotion you want. After you finish your drawing, share it with a friend and explain why you chose that emotion. This will help you practice expressing your feelings through art.
