Emotions are feelings that we experience in different situations. They can be happy, sad, angry, or scared. It's important to recognize our emotions and understand that everyone feels differently. For example, when we receive a gift, we might feel happy, but if we lose a toy, we might feel sad. Understanding our emotions helps us communicate better with others.
Let's look at some pictures of children showing different emotions. In one picture, a child is smiling and jumping; this shows happiness. In another picture, a child has tears in their eyes; this shows sadness. By looking at these pictures, we can learn to recognize how emotions are expressed through facial expressions and body language.
Now, let's practice expressing our emotions. I will say an emotion, and you will show me how you would express it. For example, if I say 'happy,' you can smile and jump. If I say 'angry,' you can frown and cross your arms. This activity helps us learn how to show our feelings in a way that others can understand.
For your independent practice, I want you to draw a picture of yourself showing an emotion. You can choose to draw yourself happy, sad, angry, or scared. After you finish your drawing, write one sentence about why you feel that way. This will help you express your feelings creatively.
