Emotions are feelings that we experience every day. They can be happy, sad, angry, or scared. It's important to recognize our emotions and understand that everyone feels differently. For example, when we are happy, we might smile and laugh, while when we are sad, we might cry or feel quiet. Today, we will learn about different emotions and how to express them.
Let's look at some pictures of faces showing different emotions. For instance, this face shows happiness with a big smile, while this one shows anger with a frown. As we look at each picture, I will ask you to tell me what emotion you see. This helps us learn to recognize how others might be feeling and how we can respond to them.
Now, let's practice expressing emotions through role-play. I will call out an emotion, and I want you to show me that emotion with your face and body. For example, if I say 'surprised,' you can widen your eyes and open your mouth. After we practice, we will discuss how we felt while showing these emotions and how it felt to see others express them.
For our independent practice, I want you to draw a picture of a time when you felt a strong emotion. It could be a time when you were really happy, sad, or even scared. After you finish your drawing, we will share our pictures with the class and talk about the emotions we illustrated. This will help us understand that it's okay to feel different emotions.
