Emotions are feelings that we all experience. They can be happy, sad, angry, or scared. It's important to understand our emotions because they help us communicate how we feel. For example, when we are happy, we might smile and laugh, while when we are sad, we might cry or feel quiet. Today, we will learn how to recognize these feelings in ourselves and in others.
Let's look at some pictures of children showing different emotions. For instance, in one picture, a child is smiling and jumping; this shows happiness. In another picture, a child has tears in their eyes and looks down; this shows sadness. By looking at these images, we can practice naming the emotions and discussing why the children might feel that way.
Now, let's play a game called Emotion Charades! I will show you a card with an emotion written on it, and you will act it out without using words. The rest of the class will guess what emotion you are showing. This will help us learn to express our feelings through actions and understand how others might feel.
For our independent practice, I want you to draw a picture of yourself showing an emotion. You can choose to draw yourself happy, sad, angry, or scared. Once you finish your drawing, write a sentence about why you feel that way. This will help you express your emotions creatively and understand them better.
