Today, we will focus on numbers from 1 to 20. We will practice counting objects in the classroom, such as books, pencils, and toys. Counting helps us understand how many items we have and lays the foundation for addition and subtraction. We will also learn to recognize these numbers in written form.

Let’s count the number of chairs in our classroom together. I will point to each chair, and you will say the number out loud. For example, if there are 5 chairs, we will count: one, two, three, four, five. After counting, we will write the number 5 on the board and discuss how we can find this number in our daily lives.

Now, let’s create a pattern using colored blocks. I will start with a red block, followed by a blue block. What comes next? Yes, it’s a red block again! Let’s continue this pattern together. After we create our pattern, we will draw it on paper and share it with our friends. This will help us understand how patterns work and how we can recognize them in our environment.

For your independent practice, you will receive a worksheet with two sections. In the first section, you will count the number of apples and write the number next to the picture. In the second section, you will color a series of shapes to create your own pattern. Use at least three different colors. Once you finish, we will share our patterns and numbers with the class.
