Kindness is being friendly, generous, and considerate to others. In many religions, kindness is an important value. For example, in Christianity, it is taught to love your neighbor as yourself. In Buddhism, being kind is part of the practice of compassion. Today, we will learn how different religions teach us to be kind.
Letβs think about some ways we can show kindness. If you see someone who is sad, you can give them a smile or a hug. In Islam, it is said that helping others is a way to please God. For instance, if a friend drops their toy, helping them pick it up is a kind action. Can you think of other examples of kindness from different religions?
Now, letβs sit in a circle and share our ideas about kindness. I will ask you to think of a time when you were kind to someone or when someone was kind to you. After sharing, we will talk about how these actions relate to what we learned about kindness in different religions.
For our art activity, you will draw a picture of a kind action you can do. It could be helping a friend, sharing a toy, or saying something nice. After you finish your drawing, we will display them on the wall to remind us to be kind every day.
