Kindness is being friendly, generous, and considerate to others. In many religions, kindness is an important value. For example, in Christianity, it is taught to love your neighbor as yourself. In Buddhism, kindness is shown through compassion for all living beings. Today, we will learn how different religions teach us to be kind.
Let's look at some examples of kindness. In Islam, helping those in need is a form of kindness. Imagine if you see someone who has dropped their books; helping them pick them up is an act of kindness. In Hinduism, sharing food with others is also a kind action. Can you think of a time when you were kind to someone?
Now, let's practice being kind! I will divide you into small groups. Each group will receive a scenario where you can show kindness. For example, one group might act out helping a friend who is sad. After you practice, we will share what you did and how it felt to be kind.
For our independent activity, we will create a Kindness Tree. Each of you will receive a leaf cut-out. On your leaf, write or draw one kind action you can do this week. Once you finish, we will attach the leaves to our tree in the classroom to remind us to be kind every day.
