Today, we will learn about different animals in Sepedi. Animals are important in our lives and culture. We will focus on names of common animals such as 'ntja' (dog), 'kat' (cat), 'nku' (sheep), and 'ngwana' (child). I will show you pictures of these animals, and we will practice saying their names together.

Let’s look at some animals and their sounds. For example, a dog says 'woof' and in Sepedi, we say 'ntja'. When I say 'ntja', you will respond with the sound 'woof'. This helps us remember the names and sounds of the animals. Let’s try it with a cat: 'kat' says 'meow'. Repeat after me: 'kat' - 'meow'.

Now, we will play a game called Animal Charades. I will divide you into small groups. Each group will choose an animal and act it out without speaking. The other groups will guess the animal in Sepedi. For example, if you act like a cow, you will say 'ngwedi' when someone guesses it correctly. This will help us remember the names and sounds of the animals while having fun!

For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal and write its name in Sepedi. You can use crayons or colored pencils to make your drawing colorful. Once you finish, we will share our drawings with the class, and you will tell us the name of your animal in Sepedi.
