Today, we will learn about different animals in Sepedi. Animals are important in our lives and culture. We will focus on names of common animals like 'ntja' (dog), 'kat' (cat), 'kgoši' (lion), 'pudi' (pig), and 'nku' (sheep). Let's listen carefully as I say each word, and then we will repeat them together.

Let's create sentences using the animal names we learned. For example, I can say 'Ntja e a bapala' which means 'The dog is playing.' Now, let’s try another one: 'Kat e a robala' means 'The cat is sleeping.' I will write these sentences on the board, and we will read them together.

Now, we will play a matching game. I will show you pictures of animals, and you will tell me their names in Sepedi. For example, if I show you a picture of a lion, you will say 'kgoši.' After that, we will match the names to the pictures on the board. This will help us remember the names better.

For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite animal and write its name in Sepedi underneath. You can also write a simple sentence about what your animal does. For example, if you draw a sheep, you can write 'Nku e a ja' which means 'The sheep is eating.' Once you finish, we will share our drawings with the class.
