Today, we will learn about different animals in Sesotho. Animals are important in our lives, and knowing their names helps us communicate better. We will focus on common animals such as 'ntja' (fish), 'pusi' (cat), 'ntja' (dog), 'khohlo' (sheep), and 'karete' (rabbit). Let’s start by repeating these names together.

Let’s take the animal 'ntja' (dog) as an example. We can say, 'Ntja e na le mebala e metle' which means 'The dog has beautiful colors.' We can also describe its sound by saying, 'Ntja e a khutsa' meaning 'The dog barks.' This helps us understand how to use descriptive sentences in Sesotho.

In groups, each learner will take turns acting out an animal while the others guess which animal it is in Sesotho. For example, if a learner acts like a 'pusi' (cat), the others will guess 'pusi'. This activity will help reinforce the names of the animals and encourage speaking in Sesotho.

Each learner will choose their favorite animal and draw it on a piece of paper. Below the drawing, they will write a simple sentence in Sesotho describing the animal. For instance, 'Karete e monate' which means 'The rabbit is cute.' This will allow learners to express their creativity while practicing their writing skills.
