Today, we will learn about different animals in Setswana. We will look at pictures of animals and learn their names in Setswana. For example, a 'dog' is called 'ntja' and a 'cat' is 'katse'. We will also learn the sounds these animals make. This will help us to understand and use these words in our conversations.

Let's take a look at some animals. If I show you a picture of a cow, you will say 'kgomo'. When I ask what sound a cow makes, you will respond with 'mmoo'. We will practice this with several animals, including 'ntja' (dog), 'katse' (cat), and 'nku' (sheep). Each time, we will repeat the name and the sound together.

Now, I will divide you into small groups. Each group will receive a set of animal pictures. You will take turns naming the animals in Setswana and making the sounds they make. For example, if you have a picture of a 'nku', you will say 'nku' and then say 'baa'. I will walk around to listen and help you if needed.

For your independent work, I want you to draw your favorite animal. After you finish your drawing, write the name of the animal in Setswana below it. You can also write what sound it makes. For example, if you draw a 'katse', you will write 'katse' and 'meow'. Once you are done, we will share our drawings with the class.
