Let’s look at some pictures of animals. Here is a picture of a dog. In Setswana, we say 'ntša'. Can anyone repeat that? Great! Now, let’s look at a picture of a cow. In Setswana, we say 'kgoši'. Let’s practice saying both names together: 'ntša' and 'kgoši'.
Now, I will call out the name of an animal in Setswana, and I want you to make the sound that animal makes. For example, if I say 'ntšhu', you will say 'meow'. Let’s try: 'pudi'! What sound does a sheep make? Yes, 'baa'! Let’s do a few more together.
For our independent activity, I want you to draw your favorite animal and write its name in Setswana. You can choose from the animals we learned today or any other animal you like. Once you finish, we will share our drawings with the class and practice saying the names together.
