Today, we will learn about our community. A community is where we live, and it includes people, places, and activities. We will talk about different community members like 'molekane' (neighbor), 'ngaka' (doctor), and places like 'sekolo' (school) and 'molelo' (fire station). Understanding these words helps us describe our surroundings better.
Let's look at some pictures of community members. For example, if I show you a picture of a teacher, you can say, 'O na le borai' (He/She is a teacher). We will practice naming each person and their role in the community. This helps us learn how to communicate about our environment.
In groups, you will choose a community member to act out. One person will pretend to be the community member, while others will ask questions like, 'O dira eng?' (What do you do?). This activity will help you practice speaking and using the vocabulary we learned. Remember to use full sentences when answering!
Now, it's your turn to draw a picture of your favorite place in the community. It could be your school, a park, or a shop. After you finish your drawing, write a simple sentence about it in Setswana. For example, 'Ke rata sekolo sa me' (I love my school). This will help you express your thoughts and reinforce your vocabulary.
