We will focus on common animals such as 'inja' (dog), 'kati' (cat), 'ngwenya' (crocodile), 'phofu' (sheep), and 'imvu' (goat).

Let's look at some pictures of animals. I will show you a picture of a dog, and I will say 'inja'. Can you repeat after me? 'Inja'. Now, let's look at a cat. This is a 'kati'. Can you say 'kati'? Great! We will continue to practice these names together.

Now, I will give you a worksheet with pictures of animals on one side and their names on the other. Your task is to draw a line connecting each animal to its correct name. For example, connect the picture of the dog to 'inja'. I will walk around to help you as you work on this activity.

For your independent practice, I want you to choose your favorite animal from the pictures we discussed. Write a simple sentence about it in siSwati. For example, if you choose a sheep, you can write 'Imvu iyaphila' (The sheep is alive). Use your creativity and draw a picture of your chosen animal next to your sentence.
