Today, we will learn about different animals in Tshivenda. Animals are important in our lives, and knowing their names helps us talk about them. We will look at pictures of animals and learn how to say their names in Tshivenda. For example, 'ndou' means elephant, and 'mbwa' means dog. Let's listen carefully and repeat after me!
Let's look at some pictures of animals together. I will show you a picture of a 'ndou' (elephant). Can anyone tell me what sound an elephant makes? That's right! Now, let's try another one. Here is a 'mbwa' (dog). What do you think a dog says? Yes, 'woof woof'! We will practice saying these names and sounds together.
Now, let's form small groups. Each group will receive a set of animal pictures. I want you to take turns showing your picture to the group and saying the name of the animal in Tshivenda. Then, everyone in the group will make the sound that animal makes. This will help us remember the names and sounds of the animals we learned today.
For our independent practice, I want each of you to choose your favorite animal from the ones we learned today. Draw a picture of that animal and write its name in Tshivenda below the drawing. You can also write a simple sentence about what the animal does. For example, 'Ndou u khou bva' means 'The elephant is walking.' I will come around to help you if you need it!
