Today, we will learn about the different sounds in the Tshivenda language. Sounds are important because they help us form words. We will listen to some sounds and try to say them together. For example, the sound 'b' in 'bana' (children) is very important. Let's practice making this sound and see how many words we can think of that start with 'b'.

Let's look at some pictures together. I will show you a picture of a 'bana' (children) and a 'bulu' (bird). Can you hear the beginning sound? Both words start with the sound 'b'. Now, let's think of other words that start with 'b'. How about 'buku' (book)? Great! You are doing well!

Now, we will play a sound matching game. I will say a sound, and you will have to find a picture that starts with that sound. For example, if I say 'm', you should find a picture of 'mukosi' (tree). Let's do this together. I will say a sound, and you will look for the correct picture. Remember to say the word out loud when you find it!

For your independent practice, I want you to think of three words that start with the sound 't'. Write them down or draw pictures of them. You can use words like 'tshikolo' (school) or 'tshikovha' (snake). After you finish, we will share our words with the class. This will help us learn more words together!
