Today, we will learn about different animals in Tshivenda. Animals are important in our lives and culture. We will focus on names of common animals such as 'mbwa' (dog), 'ndovu' (elephant), and 'ngwedi' (moon, which is often associated with animals in stories). We will also learn the sounds these animals make in Tshivenda.

Let’s look at some examples together. The word for 'cat' in Tshivenda is 'katsi'. When a cat meows, we say it makes a sound like 'miau'. Similarly, for a cow, which is 'ngwenda', the sound it makes is 'muuu'. We will practice saying these words and sounds together as a class.

Now, let’s work in groups. Each group will choose an animal and prepare to share its name and sound with the class. For example, if your group chooses 'mbwa', you will say 'mbwa' and bark like a dog. After each group presents, we will all repeat the animal names and sounds together to reinforce our learning.
