Today, we will learn about different animals in Xitsonga. Animals are important in our lives and culture. We will focus on names of common animals such as 'ngwedi' (lion), 'nku' (sheep), and 'xihlahla' (elephant). I will show you pictures of these animals and say their names in Xitsonga. You will repeat after me to practice pronunciation.

Let’s look at some animals and their sounds. For example, the lion says 'roar' and in Xitsonga, we say 'ngwedi' for lion. When I say 'ngwedi', you will make the roaring sound. This will help you remember the name of the animal. Let's practice with a few more: the cow says 'moo' and is called 'ngwena' in Xitsonga. Repeat after me: 'ngwena'.

Now, we will play a game called Animal Charades. I will divide you into small groups. Each group will choose an animal we learned today and act it out without speaking.
