Today, we will focus on guided reading, where we will read a short story together. Guided reading helps us understand what we read better. Let's read a short story about a cat named Max. As we read, I will pause and ask questions. For example, after reading a sentence, I might ask, 'What color is Max?' This helps us check our understanding. After we finish the story, we will discuss what happened and how Max felt.

After reading the story, we will have a group discussion. I will ask questions like, 'What did Max do when he saw a bird?' and 'How did Max feel at the end of the story?' Everyone will have a chance to share their thoughts. Remember to listen to your friends and respond to their ideas.

Now, it's your turn to write! Think about the story we read and write two sentences about Max. Make sure to use capital letters at the beginning and a full stop at the end. For example, you could write, 'Max is a cat.' or 'Max likes to play.' After writing, we will share our sentences with the class.
