Today, we will explore the world of creative writing! Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in fun and imaginative ways. We will learn how to write short stories and sentences that are exciting and colorful. Remember, there are no wrong ideas in creative writing; every thought is special!

Let’s create a short story together! I will start with a sentence: 'Once upon a time, there was a little dragon who loved to dance.' Now, let’s add to the story. What do you think the dragon did next? (Encourage students to contribute ideas.) We can write down their ideas, ensuring we use capital letters at the beginning of sentences and punctuation at the end.

Now it’s your turn! I want you to think of your favorite animal. Write one sentence about what your animal likes to do. For example, 'My cat loves to chase butterflies.' Remember to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. After you write your sentence, we will share them with the class. Listen carefully to your friends and think about how they used punctuation.

For your independent practice, I want you to write a short story about a magical adventure. You can choose any character you like, such as a fairy, a superhero, or even a talking animal. Write at least three sentences. Make sure to use proper punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, draw a picture that goes with your story. We will display your stories on the classroom wall!
