Today, we will explore creative writing by thinking about our favorite animals. Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in a fun way. We will learn how to describe our animals using words that help others imagine them. Remember to use full stops and capital letters when we write sentences.
Let’s look at an example. If my favorite animal is a dog, I might write: 'My dog is fluffy and brown. He loves to play fetch.' Notice how I used a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. This helps the reader understand my sentences better.
Now, let’s work together! I will ask you to think about your favorite animal. In pairs, share with each other what your animal looks like and what it likes to do. After sharing, I want you to write one sentence about your animal. Remember to use a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end. I will walk around to help you.
It’s your turn to write! On your own, write three sentences about your favorite animal. Think about its color, size, and what it likes to do. Make sure to check your work for capital letters and full stops. Once you finish, draw a picture of your animal and label it with its name.
