In this lesson, we will read a short story together and focus on how to express the emotions of the characters through our voices. We will also discuss what we read to ensure everyone understands the story.

Let's read a short story about a little bird named 'Uhlanga.' As we read, pay attention to how Uhlanga feels when she is happy and when she is scared. I will read the first part of the story aloud. Listen carefully to my expression and how I change my voice for different parts of the story. After I read, we will discuss how Uhlanga felt in each part.

Now, I will divide you into pairs. Each pair will take turns reading a paragraph from the story. As you read, think about how the character feels. Use your voice to show those feelings. After reading, discuss with your partner how you expressed the emotions and if it matched the story. I will walk around and listen to your readings.
