Let's read a short story together. The story is about a little bird who learns to fly. As we read, pay attention to how the bird feels at different times. When the bird is happy, we will read with a cheerful tone. When the bird is scared, we will read softly and slowly. This practice helps us understand the emotions in the story.

Now, we will divide into small groups. Each group will receive a different short text. As a group, read your text aloud. Pay attention to punctuation marks like commas and exclamation points. After reading, discuss how the characters might feel and how you can express those feelings while reading. Each group will then present their reading to the class.

For independent practice, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. After writing, read your sentences aloud to a partner, using different tones to express how your animal feels. This will help you practice reading with expression and improve your fluency.
