After reading, discuss with your group how the animals feel in the story. What words helped you understand their feelings? Share your thoughts with the class.

For your independent practice, write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence. For example, 'I love dogs!' or 'Cats are playful.' After writing, read your sentences aloud to a partner, using expression in your voice. This will help you practice fluency and show your partner how you feel about your animal.
