Let’s look at a few sentences together. For example, 'uThandi uthanda ukudlala' (Thandi loves to play) is correct. But if we say 'uThandi uthanda ukudlala?' it becomes a question. We will practice changing statements into questions and adding punctuation. I will write a sentence on the board, and we will decide together if it needs a full stop or a question mark.
Now, I will give you some words, and we will build sentences together. For example, if I say 'ikati' (cat), 'udlala' (plays), and 'ngaphandle' (outside), we can create the sentence 'Ikati idlala ngaphandle.' Let’s practice adding punctuation at the end of our sentences. After we build a few sentences, I will ask you to read them aloud to the class.
