A goal is something we want to achieve. It can be big or small, like learning to tie our shoes or reading a new book. Setting a goal helps us focus on what we want to do and gives us a plan to follow. Today, we will learn how to set a goal and why it is important for our learning.
Let’s say you want to read a new book by the end of the week. Your goal could be: 'I want to read one new book by Friday.' This goal is specific, and you can plan how to achieve it by reading a little bit each day. We can also think about what steps we need to take to reach our goal.
As a class, let’s think of a goal we can work on together. How about we aim to collect 20 good deeds we have done by the end of the week? We can write down our good deeds on a chart. Each day, we will discuss what we did and how it helps us reach our goal. This will help us learn about teamwork and respect for one another.
Now it’s your turn! Think of one small goal you would like to achieve this week. It could be something like practicing your spelling words or helping at home. Write your goal on a piece of paper and draw a picture of how you will achieve it. Share your goal with a partner and discuss how you can support each other.
