Digital citizenship means using technology in a safe and respectful way. Just like we have rules for how to behave in our classrooms and playgrounds, we also need rules for how to behave online. This includes being kind to others, not sharing personal information, and knowing what to do if we see something that makes us uncomfortable.

Let's think about some situations we might face online. For example, if you receive a message from someone you don’t know, what should you do? You should tell a trusted adult and not respond. Another example is when you see someone being unkind to another person online. It’s important to stand up for others and report bad behavior. These examples help us understand how to act responsibly in the digital world.

In groups, discuss what you think it means to be a good digital citizen. Share your ideas with the class. For instance, how can we show respect to others when we are online? After discussing, we will create a list of 'Digital Citizenship Rules' that we can all follow when using technology.

Now that we have learned about digital citizenship, think about one goal you can set for yourself. It could be something like 'I will always ask my parents before using the internet' or 'I will be kind to everyone I chat with online.' Write your goal on a piece of paper and draw a picture that represents it. We will share our goals with the class at the end of the lesson.
