Assessment is a way to check how well we are doing in different areas of our lives, such as school and friendships. Reflection is thinking about what we have learned and how we can improve. Today, we will discuss why it is important to assess our choices and reflect on our actions. For example, if we choose to share our toys, we can reflect on how that made our friends feel happy.
Let’s look at a scenario: Imagine you have a friend who is sad. You can assess the situation by asking yourself, 'What can I do to help?' After you help your friend, you can reflect on how it felt to be kind. Did it make you feel good? Did it help your friend? This practice helps us learn how to make better choices in the future.
In small groups, discuss a time when you made a healthy choice, like eating a fruit instead of candy. Share how you felt about that choice and what you learned from it. After sharing, each group will present one healthy choice to the class and explain why it is important. This will help us learn from each other’s experiences.
Now, think about something you want to improve in your life, like being more helpful at home or being a better friend. Write down one small goal you can achieve this week. For example, 'I will help my mom set the table for dinner.' At the end of the week, we will reflect on how well we did in reaching our goals.
