Health and safety are important parts of our lives. They help us stay safe and healthy every day. Health means taking care of our bodies by eating good food, exercising, and getting enough sleep. Safety means being careful and making choices that keep us from getting hurt. Today, we will learn how to make healthy choices and behave respectfully towards ourselves and others.
Let's look at some examples of healthy choices. If you have a choice between an apple and a candy bar, which one is healthier? The apple is a healthy choice because it gives you energy and vitamins. Now, think about what you drink. Water is a healthy choice compared to soda. We can also make healthy choices by washing our hands before eating and wearing helmets when riding bikes.
Now, let's practice what we've learned through role-playing. I will give you some scenarios, and you will tell me what healthy choice or safety behavior you would use. For example, if you see a friend who is sad because someone is being unkind, how can you help? You can choose to be kind and respectful by including them in your games. Let's act out a few more scenarios together.
To finish our lesson, I want you to think about one healthy choice you can make this week. It could be drinking more water, eating more fruits, or being kind to someone every day. Write down your goal on a piece of paper and draw a picture that shows how you will achieve it. We will share our goals with the class tomorrow!
