If I draw a square and a triangle on the board, can you tell me which one has more sides? Yes, the square has more sides than the triangle!

Now, I will give you a set of shape cards. Your task is to sort them into groups based on their shapes. You will have circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. Once you have sorted them, we will discuss how many sides and corners each shape has. Remember to work together and help each other!

For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite shape on a piece of paper. Label the shape and write down how many sides and corners it has. After you finish, we will share our drawings with the class. This will help us learn from each other and see the different shapes we like!
