Kindness is being friendly, generous, and considerate to others. In many religions, kindness is a very important value. For example, in Christianity, it is taught to love your neighbor as yourself. In Islam, being kind to others is a way to show love for Allah. Today, we will learn how different religions teach us to be kind.
Letβs look at some examples. In Buddhism, there is a teaching called 'Metta,' which means loving-kindness. Buddhists practice being kind to all living beings. In Hinduism, there is a belief in 'Ahimsa,' which means non-violence and kindness towards all creatures. These teachings encourage followers to act kindly in their daily lives.
Now, letβs think about some kind acts we can do. I will ask you to think of a time when you were kind to someone. Can anyone share their story? After sharing, we will write down some kind acts we can do at home or school, like helping a friend or sharing our toys.
For your independent practice, I want you to draw a picture of you doing a kind act. It could be helping someone, sharing, or being friendly. Once you finish your drawing, write a sentence about what you did and how it made you feel. We will share our drawings with the class at the end of the lesson.
