A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. In Sepedi, sentences often start with a capital letter and end with a full stop (.) or a question mark (?). For example, 'Ke rata go bala' means 'I like to read.' It is important to use punctuation correctly to show when a sentence ends or when we are asking a question.

Let's look at some examples together. 'Ngwana o a bapala' means 'The child is playing.' Notice how it starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. Now, if we ask a question, like 'O kae?' which means 'Where are you?', it ends with a question mark. Practicing these examples will help us write our own sentences correctly.

Now, let's create sentences as a class. I will say a word, and you will help me form a sentence. For example, if I say 'motswana' (person), you might say 'Motswana o a ja' (The person is eating). Remember to start with a capital letter and end with the right punctuation. After we create a few sentences together, I will ask you to share your own sentences with the class.
