Let’s look at a simple story: 'Ke na le ntja e ntšo. Ntja ya ka e rata go tshega.' This means 'I have a black dog. My dog loves to laugh.' Notice how the sentences are short and clear. They also have correct punctuation at the end. We can use this structure to create our own stories.
Now, let’s work together to create a sentence. I will start: 'Ke na le ...' (I have ...). What can we add? Let’s think of something fun, like 'Ke na le ngwana ya go tshega' (I have a child who laughs). Remember to use a full stop at the end of our sentence. Let’s write it on the board together.
Now it’s your turn! Write a short story about your favorite animal. Use at least three sentences and remember to use correct punctuation. For example, you can start with 'Ke na le ...' and describe what your animal does. After you finish writing, draw a picture of your animal to go with your story.
